Introduction
DISMAR

DISPRO is an OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) compliant Web Map Service system, developed by the DISMAR (Data Integration System for Marine Pollution and Water Quality) consortium with funding from the EU IST Programme.

The consortium comprises 17 partners from six countries working with diverse observing systems such as satellites, aircraft, ships and in-situ instruments, and testing multi-sensor data fusion and other data synthesis techniques.

The objective is to improve the management of pollution crises in coastal and ocean regions of Europe through the use of an advanced web-based information system. The focus of the project, for demonstration purposes, is on oil spill and harmful algal bloom events.

Please consult the FAQ for concise descriptions of the main features of DISPRO.
